SPC Vice-President Meets with Sino-Japanese Legal Experts on IP

Luo Dongchuan, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), met on Jan 6 in the Intellectual Property Court (IP Court) of the SPC with a delegation of Chinese and Japanese legal experts attending a comparative study symposium on intellectual property protection.


During the meeting, Luo, also head of the IP Court of the SPC, said that establishing the IP Court of the SPC is a major decision made by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core. As the world's first specialized IP appellate judicial organ at the Supreme Court level in the world, the IP Court, with jurisdiction on technology related disputes, has made plenty of accomplishments since its establishment a year ago.


He pointed out that China and Japan have strengthened their communication in the IP field in recent years with positive results. He expects the two countries to further their communication and cooperation, and jointly promote the modernization of global governance of IP.


The members of the delegation expressed great concern over the establishment and achievements of the IP Court of the SPC, and expressed their hope to strengthen mutual-learning so as to push forward the development of IP protection.


The meeting was also attended by relevant persons in charge of the IP court of the SPC.
